I cannot begin to express the pride I feel for two young men who work for me.
Brad Armstrong and Justin McWatters recently went to Dallas, Texas for a Volkswagen Service Quality Competition, hosted by Volkswagen of America. Over 5,000 people took part in this competition, and all had to pass an array of online and dealership testing to even enter the competition.
Justin and Brad both placed in the top 50, which moved them to the Semi-Final round in Dallas, Texas! In Dallas, the Technicians were tested on diagnostic procedures, technical ability, customer interaction skills, and theory.
I am ecstatic to announce that Justin McWatters placed in the top 12 at the Semi-Finals, moving him forward to the National Volkswagen Service Quality Competition in January, 2013! Justin will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to South Florida, where he will compete against the top 12 Service Technicians in the nation.
Best of luck, Justin!
Amazingly, outside of the competition, Justin and Brad are also tied with their “Fix It Right the First Time” score. Both (Justin and Brad) rank 53rd in the nation for Volkswagen Service Technicians.
Talent like this doesn’t come along everyday, and lightening typically doesn’t strike the same VW dealership twice.
On behalf of everyone at Ed Schmidt, we’d like to congratulate them both.
Volkswagen Service Manager, Terry Kalmbach, is honestly one of the nicest people we know. He never gets mad. Seriously. Sometimes we try to make him mad, on purpose, just to see what it looks like. Terry has been a Service Manager for Ed Schmidt since 2005. We’re lucky to have him, and it’s no surprise to us that he has the ability to attract the top talent in the nation.
